My good buddy Fletch, frontman for his killer group The Sixth Letter informed me of their new album release Whoa! Is Me and I'll be honest with you...it's fucking brilliant!

Real good honest UK hip hop that is about as unaffected as you can get. The guys are all super talented without egos and are one of those bands that rock your world on CD but absolutely knock your teeth out when playing live. For me, these are the best kinds of band. Edition38 2011

Well what can I say, Edition38 this year was epic as always. Everything actually went to plan, after my door hinge breaking last year setting us back half a day and the fact I was nowhere near finishing the VR off I decided to play passenger this year for the journey down. Which was awesome!! Our buddy Bob has been working hard getting his Mk1 Cabby in order and he's done an amazing job getting her sorted...apart from the roof. This meant I had a good chance to get over my hatred of Cabbys...which I did in a BIG way resulting in me being fully in love with it at the moment. All going well I'll be buying it in the new year.

On to the journey. No real spills but blasting down the motorway with the roof down in some old skool cool was real good fun, plus I got to snap a ton of pics with the 3G, all of which are at the end of this waffle.

I've been a crazy busy guy this past two years with my new job which has seriously affected my chance of going to meets an shows, but there was an inside to this. We usually go around the showfield with a 'seen it before' attitude but this year all the rides were funky fressssssh and we fully enjoyed the metal there. Plus, when you realise how hard it is to do small jobs on your own car you start to fully appreciate the graft the big boys put into theirs. Fair play guys and gals.

Me and my boy @flip316 (Instgram) met up with an instagram buddy @st4rk3y who turned out to be a full blown legend, all round decent bloke with a crazy sick ride, really sick. Always nice to meet Internet dudes who turn out to be genuinely cool and like a natter. His red A4 won big and deservedly so, soooooo much effort and detail gone into it and it all paid off huge. Big props brother man! One of my show favourites.

Another of my favourites was Carl's stellar bright orange RS4 rocking crazy Rotiforms, clean styling without the try hard approach of previous cars. In fact this was the one I'd be more inclined to steal. Epic!

Rotiforms pretty much had Edition locked down on the rim front and even had a chat with Brian himself who seems pretty happy with how things are going for him...and why wouldn't the be right? I think Rotiform and Compomotive need to join forces to build some heroic hoops.

Was great to finally have a good chat with Elliott from PVW and Wheel Whores plus it was cool to chat with some guys who bought the VIP hoops tee I did for Wheel Whores. Good times!

The best part of Edition was spending some decent time with my boys. Eating, drinking (lots) and giving eachother shit all weekend is what it's all about. It was cool to see the bucket2 makes her maiden voyage rocking her sweet blue X5 winters, the boy put sone heavy werk into that thing. Ok, so I normally do all my blog posts form my iPhone. Why? Good question. I kinda like the idea that blogging as mainly about sharing the things you're doing and living day to day and the idea of being able to blog from where you are wraps up that whole deal for me. If you can't blog about it, then you can Tweet the snippets and share a few pics via Instagram, which is also awesome. That whole idea of using just yourself and one piece of kit underlines the whole living and breathing part of it, which is why I haven't done a blog post form my Mac for a long time...well, until now (hence the long waffly intro). I usually use an app called Blog Booster which I bought and has been pretty great until my recent fall out with it. I wrote this post twice over and both times it lost my writing and the image uploads, which takes a while to do. Anyway, enough of the whining, let's get to it, some heavy linking to start with but all in aid of good causes.

The Big Walk Home, or @thebigwalkhome, is a charity walk that is set up to raise awareness for the CALM group, who do a lot of work to bring to light the issues of suicide in young men. The 20 mile walk from Ramsbottom to Manchester runs alongside the MIF (Manchester International Festival) as part of a series of small events by the Not Part Of The group which are all great events that do good and raise awareness of some pretty amazing people and organizations. On top of this, my amazing wife Ollierocks, AKA Tracey Woods raised additional money for the CF Trust as a good friend of ours' youngest daughter is living with the condition, so we wanted to do whatever we could to raise funds and awareness for the cause.

Anyway, the walk. It started off in Ramsbottom, a few miles up the road from where we live, at The Chocolate Cafe who very generously laid on bacon barms, free tea and coffee and some Vitamin water drinks to keep us going, which was amazing.

We then cracked on to walking and it was absolutely pissing it down, but I quite like this as it really added to the walk. The area where we started was all down along the East Lancashire Railway so was quite purdy scenery. Big stone bridges, loads of greenery and a few steam trains chugging along. Nice!!

The walk took us along the Irwell Sculpture Trail which is a really long stretch that takes you into Salford eventually. There are a number of sculptures along the way, some easy to see, some not so easy (which we missed a few of I think). A real cool thing with the walk was that at every stage we made a stop at, there was a band waiting for us to play a small set to keep us going. Plus a few free drinks here and there. So our first stop at the Brown Cow Pub in Burrs (I think) had a cool folky type bunch called Harp & A Monkey waiting to play a mini set for us. The rain hammered down while we sat in shorts, drinking cider, watching a band play. Brilliant!

Then we were off, up the Irwell Sculpture Trail towards Radcliffe. This part of the walk was pretty hectic as we had to play catch up, not the best seeing as we only made one stop up to this point. This did spoil things a bit as we really enjoyed the first part, it now became a bit of a rush. Still really cool though and to be honest, this part of the walk didn't really show us anything other than a long trek (8.7 miles) through pretty dull surroundings once the pretty stuff had passed. When we got to our next stop at the Masons Arms in Radcliffe, band number 2 were waiting for us. Slow Motion Shoes who played some cracking covers, my favourite being a touch of Gorillaz finest.

Then we were off again. After a cider of course. Towards our next stop in Salford. The first part of this stage was quite nice, but again we had to motor on a bit to keep time. As this stage cracked on, my girl who bought walking shoes weeks earlier and me, being a bloke, was all "na I don't need any yet, be reet". Let me tell you something, breaking in new walky type shoes on a 20 mile walk ain't the best idea, especially when you've got a lot of old skating injuries in your ankles and ligaments. Yep, my dogs were barking, but anyway, it wasn't about me. Our 3rd stop was at Punters Bistro in Salford where we saw Katy Buckhaven and her Trio waiting for us, plus, free tea and coffee and some home made amazing cake. We had to nom down on some lemon drizzle action.

Now, and I'm sure if he reads this he won't mind me mentioning this, one of our group, a guy called Arthur Chappell admitted he wasn't in the best shape as we chatted with him along the way. From the outset he said he probably wouldn't make it the whole distance and apologized when he lagged behind a little but we hung back for a chat and to egg him on a bit. Before you knew it, he was still in it and on the last leg. "I'm not gonna fall at the last hurdle now" he said on our way to Punters. I know this all sounds a bit patronizing but it was legendary for him to just steam through it and really enjoy it with the rest of us. Inspiration to anyone!

So, the last stretch was across the City centre where we landed at The Bay Horse Pub on Thomas Street where they laid on some awesome bar snacks and pizza for us, plus Katy Buckhaven and her Trio came back to play again for us to wrap up what was a pretty amazing, tiring and inspiring day of walking and chatting.

Just space to say a few thanks. To my wife Tracey for finding out about this and making us do it, which we will be doing again next year hopefully. Thanks to Mike who organized the walk and who was a real nice guy and thanks to all the bands and places we stopped off at for your hospitality and letting 20+ dirty, sweaty, walking dead into your places.

Can't beat a bit of charity.

Sometimes you do things or see things in life that are so mind blowing you log in your mind as 'holy shit I'm super glad I was there to see that' events. Seeing The Flaming Lips play at the Jodrell Bank Live gig was one of those events.

Me and my girl @ollierocks go to lots of gigs, that's kinda our thing and we've seen a lot our favourite bands, singers or whatever, but this was just something else.

For those that don't know, Jodrell Bank is a huge ass telescope in Cheshire, England, that transmits and records sound in space and records the sounds made by planets and all sorts of amazing space stuff. Some clever people decided to stage a gig there and transmit the night into space. Cool eh? The stage itself was right next to the 3200 tonne telescope pretty much as close to it as you could get.

Now, as the might went on a few people played, Ok Go, British Sea Power to name a couple but the headliners were The Flaming Lips who we'd never seen live and heard good things about. Turns out they were one of, if not the best bands we ever saw live!! The show they put on was incredible! Huge confetti cannons, 4ft rubber balloons bounced over the crowd, the lead singer walked the crowd inside a 7ft space bubble, wore giant hands that fired lasers from them, more balloons, more smoke, more confetti...just pure showtime. Epic in every sense.

As with any gif that is a day festival you get the odd gripe but I ain't even going there. It was all about the gig and the Lovell telescope for me.

Awesome night, pure and simple.

Hope the aliens liked it.

Doin' a bit more wurk

Right then, I've done a bit of PlastiDipping (which is more to come) so now it's time to do some more serious bits an pieces.

My bodywork is shot so 2 new rear arch repair panels are need as well as 2 new wings. My brother in law has a bodyshop so it was time to pay him a little visit. He stuck me in a corner with an airline, some equipment so I was set.

Front wings are ready for cleaning and priming now after a good prep and sand, rear arch panels are ready for primer and welding in after some surface rust was buzzed away (eBay cheapness to keep the build on a tight budget). Phase 2 should start later in the week, wing and panels primed and ready plus I'll be sanding down and prepping my subtly simplified rear bumper.It's definitely all on now!! Roll on #edition38

It's nice to be nice

Okay so back on the grid again. Been directing a 2 week photoshoot so been ridiculously busy. 7 day weeks and 16+ hour days has been tricky. That aside, one night in the hotel we were shooting we got chatting to Mr. Nice AKA Howard Marks who was doing a talk about his life nearby. Now I do like meeting people with a story to tell but I gotta admit I ain't too sure about being pleased to meet a guy who peddled a shit load of drugs for a living. Funny thing was, and of course I ain't implying anything here, but around 2:30am not long after he went up to his room the fire alarms went off. And they went off again the next morning not long before he came down to check out. Living large. I'll post some dub related stuff tomorrow, my rear arch repair sections arrived yesterday. It's on!!

Rim wurk

The VR rebuild keeps on moving! Next in line were my S2 rims that I'd polished then ran through a bad winter without looking after em and, well basically, they were fucked up. Then I left them in the cellar to get all oxidised and shit so were in a bad way.

These rim are only 16x7 but look awesome on the VR so are the rim of choice for this summer for me, plus, noone really does them on a mk3 so will look pretty unique.

Anyway here are some tricky pics showing how they were an how they look at the mo. Phase 1 is done so next step is to work into the metal to make it smooth all over so they look tidy when polished up. Heaps better than they were.

So here we go.

Doin' more werk

Kinda got Into the swing of getting shit done so here are a few more snaps of things getting done. I finished up the wing mirrors today, pain in the arse opening up the door skins a bit to get em off but worth it. Also though I'd attack some I'd the rot she's developed over the past year of neglect before it takes over like on my arches. Sills started to rot a bit where the door seals join but kicking their ass with some 140 grade, Hammerite's finest (Kurust) then temp coating with PlastiDip seems to have worked wonders.

Have a looky cuz there's a lot more to come over the next few weeks.

Doin' werk

The sun has started to shine which means we got dry times to do werk. Been gathering bits and pieces over the past few months to rebuild the VR to some state of shiny awesomeness. First on the agenda is the small stuff, PlastiDip has been introduced to some body parts and it's all starting to come together.

My heavily stone chipped and battered grille was first up, along with the original chrome grille badge. Gave the grille a bit of sanding and hit it hard with the Dip. Then I popped my Kamei ducts out, gave them a bit of love with the 400 and 1200 grade and some Dip. Finally the wing mirrors have taken a beating and look shit so...off, sanded and punished them with the D I P. This shit is awesome, for those not in the know, PlastiDip is a rubberised spray paint, to put it simply. My boy @flip316 put me onto it and it answered all my prayers. It looks Matt black with a textured finish and literally peels off if you ain't happy.

Got a few more plans for this but for now, this is a start.

Like a nice bit of good honest UK hip hop? So do I and I'm real lucky to have developed a good friendship over the last few years with a very special dude and his crew. Mr Fletcher and his boys, AKA The Sixth Letter effortlessly and passionately dish out a serving of original and epic tracks that make you smile and bob your head like a nutjob on day release.

They recently played at the Star and Garter in Burton, about 90 miles from us and we decided to 'take a risk' and hot foot it down there straight after work. After years of promising to go see them the surprise was a good one but soooooo worth the effort. These guys totally rocked the places foundations and blew the fucking roof off the building, not literally of course but not far off.

We love going to gigs, that's kinda our thing ( me and my wife @ollierocks that is ) but going to see someone you care about and see just how amazing they are over and above your expectation is something you can't even touch.

Check these dudes out on MySpace, YouTube and Facebook for updates and tracks for something special. These guys destroy shit and when they're live they bring it to a whole new level.

Oh my god. Holy shit. The BBoys have had a rough year and a half with MCA [ aka Adam Yauch ] having some throat cancer deal which has been a huge blow to the magic 3. By all accounts he's doing well and they're back on the horse spitting out some INSANE killer licks to get over, what I thought, was an average last album.

Make Some Noise is their latest track from their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, which they've put out on their site after some leaking action.

It's the boys right back at their best with what could ultimately be their last album, depending on health and stuff.

Have a listen...then listen again...smile, laugh, smile some more and bob your head. This shit is STELLAR!!

Here we go kids. I've been working with El from PVW and Wheel Whores fame to design a special edition Wheel Whores tee based on my Holy Hoops design. After some tweaks and hand drawing a tasty Rotiform BLQ to replace the Keskin faker I had in the original, they've now got a shiny new black and gold tee of their very own.

These guys are awesome and if you've never heard of them or visited their site you're basically rocking the opposite status to Charley Sheen. For everything you need to know about hoops, ETs, poke, tuck, stance, camberz...and so on, #getfamiliar.

Here's our baby girl, Sienna. Ain't she awesome? We have a British shorthair blue colourpoint, Ollie, who lives with my mother in law. We took him to the vets for his boosters and all that jazz. The vet showed us Sienna who was taken in because her owners wanted to breed her (they're worth monies) but she didn't get along with pregnancy so they pretty much tossed her out. Heartless dicks. We gave it the full she's amazing...can't believe they chucked her...we'd have her if she can't be rehomed...etc. One thing lead to another and we came home with a boosted cat an a new baby tiger.

She's amazing, a serious handful and cool as shit.

2011 has started out well for the dub side of things. Got plans, got new wings and now my bro hooked himself up with a sweet em kay fow V5. But more on this later. For now, we kick started garage club again to start building rides up and having a bud with all the gear is a serious bonus. An extra bonus is all the killer Ferraris that are in the same place. Far be it for me to snoop around someone's pride and joy but I took a few snaps of the awesomeness on display.Two in particular were a 599 GTO which, at 350k is a serious piece of kit. Second, the same dude also owned a new 458 which he added 80k of options to. Insane!! Good work man, whoever you are.

Been sorting the cellar out today to get rid of crap and sort out my car bits ready for the big revamp. Stumbled across all my pro paintball gear so thought I'd share a couple of slices. We set up out own team, K2, about 12 years ago and did ok. We drove custom gear as part of our thing and I designed us custom jerseys, goggle straps, tees, hoodies, all kinds of crap and we loved it! A couple of us left K2 to play EXL with Shockwave which kinda strews the demise of the team but the spirit of K2 still lives on!

That little VHS tape (yeah I know) is of probably the most influential paintball film ever made which goes beyond paintball and is worth a watch, even if balling doesn't interest you. It's called PUSH by Bryon Benini and Patrick Spohrer and will enlighten your lives.

Man I've neglected her. Having a pretty full on work life has meant the whip gets left til last and when you see the rot, hear the coughs and realise she didn't get a wash in 2010 (I know that's ridiculous) you know it's time to step up.

So I've put some pics together of the bits and pieces I've been nesting to strap on and give her some serious love.

Had a few hours in my local scrappers today so I can sort this out:

So I snatched these bad boys in great shape, plus i nicked a bunch of cl indicators just as back up. I couldn't bring myself to buy spurious bits that don't fit. Some prep and paint and we'll be golden.

Interior will be getting a touch old school with this once I've messed around with bosses. I've been rocking cl indicators and lights for about 3 years now so think it's time to push a bit more orange, this wheel will have a nice orange paintjob:

The lump is due another sump after smashing that one up and she'll be getting this strapped on at some point too for more bwaaarrpps:

Finally I got a couple of mini pool balls to tap and thread, in orange, to carry the zest.

All this with a bit of a wash, some orange paint on the 15x8s and a little touch of vinyl graphics and we should be looking sweet again.

She ain't a big money build, more of a loose change revamp so watch this space for stuff actually happening.

I struggle to make time to do stuff but this sounds like some pure fun and be good to see if I can kickflip some big gaps again. Probably not.

Ha haaaa, totally genuine slice of awesomeness today. Had the bros and sisters round tonight for some good food, drink and chats for my amazing wife's late birthday get together type dealio and we cracked out the mega panettone I got at Christmas and the most awesome thing happened.

We dusted it. We put some candles on. We did a round of happy birthday...then we cut it. Aaaand it looked like a massive cock so like grown ups we squirted a pair of creamy balls on there with chocolate star pubes and tucked in.

Well, it's been a 17 year long relationship we've had together. Good times, bad times he's always been there for me to lend a very rubbery ear. Ok this is bullshit but I've just sold my 1976 original Stretch Armstrong to a collector in the States and feel the need to give him a slot.

He's pretty awesome really. Great personality, handsome, funny with a pretty sensual bronzed glossy tan, as a supposedly grown man I just can't help give the dude a little squeeze. Well here she is. Bit of a wreck due to a mad hectic 2010 working but little by little I've been getting hold of bits and piece to make her into an awesome machine again with sickness oozing from every hole.

So the script is this.

..when you're not really having fun.

So hard times fell upon me towards the end of last with my self employed status, setting up on me todd wasn't really the best idea considering the crunchy nut economy and I had my ass bitten hard. Great news was that I managed to land the Creative Director role at a great design studio in Manchester, Pixel8, which was a timely and brilliant decision. Problem is, I've been working my ass off big time since the New Year and not had chance to do anything, literally. Work, home, tea, sleep, start again so again, the Missile has had to take the back seat for a while...as have all things Düb for the time being.

That was until now!!!!

The VR took a hammering over winter and she is in a seriously sorry state. being a daily whip means she doesn't get the spit and polish treatment that show ponies get but now is the time she gets a makeover.

I took some pics of her current state, which I'll follow this up with later today, very sad indeed, but I'll outline the plans for 'Operation man Down' and keep you all posted with what goes on.

All going well, she'll look sweet again and I'll have the chance to spend some time getting her tweaked just right. She won't be no show pony, Ill be buying loads of second hand budget bits but we'll see what we can do eh?

As for DubMissile stuff, on hold for now (again) as I just don't have the time, but the great thing about the new job is I'm working alongside production peeps who can help me source some of my new ideas at great costs, so we can all benefit.

Some of you may or may not know about the Un-Phased lads or the Vag-H20 punks. To put it simply they're just a decent bunch of Northern guys, having some fun and building some nice looking rides between em, which is nice. They make a ton of effort and are always up for a chat and a laugh, no strings, no agendas, which is a nice change.

So, my main man Rick (with the rapid blue 20vt caddy) looks after their collaborative site Un-H20 and has a bit of fun with it and think he's a designer (you know I'm only f'king with ya Rick...love ya really man).

Glad to see more and more dubbers getting into blogging now, they're a proper good tool for showing off what you're doing and quicker to update than a full blown website, plus, there are so many free tools out there to set one up I think all dub clubs should have one.

Anyhow, swing by, say hello and the Un-Phased meets are every last Thursday of the month at the Boatyard pub just off the M65. Check em out on Facebook for updates.

The next big meet will be on 17th December with some barbecue **edit: a bloody carvery** action, sweet rides and raffle. Get your asses down there cuz I'll be hooking them up with a couple of tees and badge packs as one the prizes...I'm good like that.

Well what a great end to the weekend!! Zombie Aid had its second outing in Manchester on Sunday (1st November) and what a blast! A bunch of us dressed up for the occasion, as you do, bit of clothing, some fake blood, latex, face paints, mud, more fake blood and plenty of moans and groans and off we went. Everyone met up at the Printworks and by everyone, I mean EVERYONE, around 3000 I think all dressed in all kinds of insane Zombie get ups, from simple crash bloody messes, to nurses, to businessmen, to lollypop ladies...it was a superb sight. We were going as an active Zombie Marine Unit and I ended up as a kind of Zombie marine cum Highway Patrol guy, which worked.

If you haven't heard about it, Zombie Aid is a charity run event organized by Carl Whitely with all proceeds going to Christie's Cancer Hospital. There is a large Facebook presence and a group too so search it out.

The night consisted of a couple of slices of Zombie action, the first was an attempt to break the British record for the largest mass Thriller dance that was held at the Pure nightclub...apparently we smashed the record, which was cool as I found the dancing super hard. The second part was a huge Zombie walk around the city centre then through a closed Arnedale Centre, which was amazing, just like being in a film.

Enough waffling, do some searching online to find out more about it, but for now check out some pics of us lot having a bit of a laugh, my brother and sister-in-law rocked some awesome make-up so next year is gonna be HUGE!!

These dudes are the wake up call for all water cooled owners I think. They seem to be cool guys (although I aint even met em) who enjoy what they do, do it properly and do it bloody quick. For years the water cooled show scene has been about who can spend the most on paint and rims but these guys have shown it's looking like dudes are gonna have to start to think outside the box a bit.

Oh, who are they? Type 2 Detectives of course. Flavour of the month and yeah I'm jumping on their slammed bandwagon like everyone else but end of the day, they're illin!!

Well this is the first time I've posted a ton of pics from one of our little excursions and from now on I'll be making this a bit of a habit. Let's be honest, blogs are all about letting us get a sniff of what other peeps get up to, so, it's about time I let you know what our little possé gets up to.

E38 is pretty much THE water cooled event of the dub show calendar in the UK (for those that didn't already know) and for the past 3 years we've been haulin' ass over there for camping, bbq meat, booze, talking shit and checking out the finest in metal that's on show. This year was no exception apart from one of our troops was ill so couldn't drink too much but this didn't really stop us having a blast. Our convoy was diminished as we had a few last minute dropouts, which is always a shame, but it was still awesome anyways.

There were some downsides, a lot of dicks were around and trashed a lot of expensive stuff, plus, a lot of stuff was stolen from tents and cars, including my phone!!!! Some poor guys had stuff nicked from their show cars too which is real low, Borbet flat caps being one example with all kinds of trim pieces getting lifted.

Anyways, I aint gonna bang on about it, if you haven't been you gotta go, it rocks!! The rides are sick and you'll have a great time, we also decided to try out the rave tent this year and as you can see we kinda had a huge slice of dance pie!!!!

Big shout out to my boys, Chris, Gilly, Jez, Walker, Miami Rob, Johnno, Ian and Danny for a sweet weekend AND to all those that we bumped into along the way.

Can you? I can. What am I yamming on about? Delivery time of course!!!!

I've been way busy of late and have been neglecting you a little but that's all about to change, honest it really actually is. I've been saving up some cash to get things underway so the first launch will be these tees. I've decided to make things a little special too, firstly all tees will be limited and will be released in pairs, so you'll get two colourways of one tee in very low numbers, sub 50 in fact and once they're gone...they're gone!! The design won't be gone as I'll release new colourways every now and then to keep things fresh, again, sub 50 per batch. Coat of arms tee won't be limited though as that'll be a stock item.

As for the tees, I'm getting the boys in the know, Prototype21, to produce the stock for me. These guys do amazing quality work and if you've ever seen or bought a Terratag tee then you'll already know this. This means good news all round for everyone!! Amazing quality tees, amazing quality prints and amazingly low quantities to make everyone jealous when they can't get one and you did.

Ballin' on the beach!!

Well, been HUGELY busy with my business so again, the missile ends up taking a backseat so sorry for neglecting y'all. Until the tees come in here's a lil' does of cool to show you what I did last weekend to blow off some steam.

My pals and I used to play pro paintball a few years back as a hobby, which kind of led into an obsession and we actually became very good at it, even played all over Europe and in the first European X-Ball premier league called the EXL. Anyway, times change and you need your money for other things so we had to call it a day and move on in life, always with an eye on what goes on within the sport. As a designer I loved it as I could have some fun designing all our custom jerseys for our first team (K2) then the special jersey for the EXL team we played for from London (Shockwave). Staying in touch with people from the sport has led to me designing a few bits and bobs here and there, most recently a logo for the newly formed promotions company, Balls Out Promotions. These guys do a fantastic job organizing events that players really want to play and are hugely selfless in their approach, opting for a longer term plan rather than going for the quick buck that most series promoters go for. Their latest event, which gets me back to the point, was labeled 'Ballin' On The Beach' and was played at the South Pier in sunny Blackpool. The guys who run BOP are pals so the whole logo design thing was a trade for trade affair, which I didn't mind at all as playing tournament paintball can be expensive, especially when you're trying to save for a wedding, so a logo for a weekend of top class paintball was more than a fair deal for me.

I have to admit the logo looked great on the banners they'd had done and the staff tees were striking, plus whoever did the website and flyers have followed the theme and carried it through the branding which works quite well. Its good to see them really making an effort to do things properly and actually taking the sport, which in the UK has been on the decline of late, forwards and back up where it belongs with all the other fringe extreme sports.

Quick run down of how the game works. The format, 5 man X-ball, has 2 teams of 5 players, but each team will have around 7-10 players in the squad to rotate around but only 5 on the field at any one time. Game time is 10 minutes with each team having a buzzer in their starting point. The idea is to shoot all 5 players with the main aim of hitting their buzzer, by hand, to gain a point. Then the clock stops. 2 minutes to get off the field, cleaned up, load up with paint, air and re-evaluate your game plan. Back on the field and the clock is restarted from your original 10 minutes...game on!! This happens until the 10 minutes is up or one team reaches 4 points quickly. Awesome game, exciting to watch and intense to play, a real good extreme sport that is a little different to all the others out there.

Here are some pics of me and my buddy in action from various games, to be honest, we were still pretty awesome considering it'd been a while, only problem being I think we've got the bug again. I'm in the red mask and my boy Latham has a yellow one.

We both really enjoyed having our girls there after years of them listening to us whine on about how awesome paintball is, they now know why we loved it so much. X

Anaconda gets some new fangs!

As you all may know, my VR has been nick-named the Anaconda. Why? I have no idea, which is kinda why I like it. Anyways, I use her every day, clock up some heavy miles and general use and abuse her. I do treat her occasionally to some sweet hoops or a subtle mod here and there but generally she gets whipped...looked after but whipped. So it was about she had some lovin. I toyed with the idea of getting rid and getting a 4mo, but, my buddy has an R32 so I couldn't compete which would really get on my chaps...Ana stays!! My engine has high miles and smokes like a dirty nun so rather than get a few things uprated and fixed I thought it best to just buy a new engine, well, 2nd hand but way newer than what I have.

No pics as yet, but me and my man Gilly (with the R32) are going picking up the new lump today which has 45k less miles, newish clutch, sump, oil pump, stainless 6 branch and timing chains and tensioners all done around 10k ago, which sounds like an awesome lifeline to me. This will all get shoehorned in within the next 2 weeks, I'll be atacking some of the rust on the arches with a diy approach, possibly roll the front arches (ghetto style), get the zorst sorted out with a bit of friendly help hopefully, then I got some sweet plans for the interior...can you say...custom DubMissile headliner? I think you can.

Now I love dubs, I really do, in fact I just love cars full stop if I'm honest whether it be a badass turbo'd VR or a blown R32 or a G60/G40 or a sick Jap drifter or some old school 70's/80's Ford or a sweet split camper or some sick yank muscle...the list goes on. So, when I went to Tescos yesterday to go shopping I nearly wet myself when I saw this guy and his lad topping up the radiator of this piece of awesomeness.

I didn't get to chat too much as he needed to go pretty sharpish once the rad was filled, but from what I could see it was a sweet old school Ford, roof chop and a small block v8 which sounded...well, I wished I'd have recorded it because it just made me smile from ear to ear and I'm pretty sure there was movement, if you know what I mean.

I did snatch a couple of dodgy phone pics and I'm sure you'll all agree that on a sunny day, surely the best thing to be cruising around in would be something like this.

I'm not gonna write a War and Peace about how great the show was and how the whole weekend was a huge party and despite the rain everyone blew up...because...well, we only decided to 'pop' down on the Sunday for an hour at about 2pm so we missed all that stuff, PLUS I think we missed all the rain too as it was mad sunny when we arrived. So we had a Mr. Whippy before anything else.

Anyways, the show did look good, we did miss a lot of the cars as they'd gone by then but it was still a worthy ride out and if you like your dubs air and water cooled it's always worth a mooch.

I took a few dodgy snaps on the way round, last minute again. I didn't go round looking for the cray show cars, just what caught my eye casually.

Whenever I go here it always makes me realize just how much I want a splitscreen bus so me and my girl can look awesome and cruise around having free holidays.

We did pop to a local beach for half an hour though, which was amazing, even though it was rainy...in fact, that kinda made it even cooler. That and the million jellyfish we saw.

I was playing around with something a bit more light-hearted so knocked up this 'Ich liebe meinen mk3' design which as I'm sure y'all know means I love my mk3 in German. I've recycled my old mk3 drawing for the time being but after some tweaks this will have a new drawing with more detail than the last one, a bit more effort is gonna come in to play from now on. And before anyone starts, the type was only knocked up so I know the letter spacings are all over the place but don't you worry my little cherubs, I'll be getting it all just nice before I go to print.

Ok, so the only pic I have is of me from the cold and rainy beach in Wales, on our way back from All Types show, which was cool (see new post). I just wanna get into the habit of letting you guys see what I'm up to more, it kinda softens the wait a bit in between tees. ** added new pic of actual design **

Lemme know if you think this should be a doer...should I be doing Ich leibe designs for all the mks? We'll see anyway, get a good spread of different styles up for different dubs so that there is at least something for everyone and not a tone of golf tees or mk3 tees.

Golf War syndrome.

So, a bit removed from my current style of tee and a bit themed this one but I kinda like it. I'll probably only produce these in super limited numbers and this is a unique range to Golf owners although I assure you, the Rocco and Caddy is about get some seriously sweet love.

As you can see there are only 2 finished at the mo, the others have the graphic package done but the car illis need finishing off, once done there'll be a complete 'Golf War' set completed. Get it, golf...war...I know, pretty bad pun. Bad taste? I hope not.

These will be single colour on one stock only, the olive green for obvious reasons and there maybe a secondary graphic on there as a limited edition reference and to finish off the theme.

I've set up a work in progress side bar where I'll start to add images of any designs and products I'm in the middle of developing, gives you all something nice to look at while waiting for me to get things up for sale.

Please leave any comments, if you all say they're crap and you hate them, well I won't do em and they'll be super limited to one offs...just for me.

Ok sports fans, all sorted out, got a quote that I'm happy with from a company who can also supply the cool tees that I'm after. The first batch will be limited to just 50 tees of the Holy Hoops design to test the water, across a few colour options. This way I'll get a feel for which colours are most popular and it'll give me a chance to iron out any problems before the next batch of tees.

It's gonna be a good couple of weeks before they are printed and shipped to me but I'll post some snaps of the awesomeness when I'm ready to get em on the shop.

I'm in talks today with a couple of companies to take on my screen printing work for the tees. It'll be slow at first as I can only afford to produce one tee style a month so I'm tracking the new online shop to see which tees are the most popular from plain clicks and views, up to now it looks close between the Rado and Holy Hoops tees, followed by the 1976 mk1 tee. This means I'll be printing these up in order and like I say, one a month...although, if sales really take off I'll print the next tee once the monies are in the bank or some outstanding design invoices come in. I really want to get as much up as possible for you guys so you have the choices you deserve, so, each tee will be single colour prints but on a few different colours (whites, pinks, blues, yellows...) so everyone won't look like twins at the shows.

Sad times for the girls though, for now I'll be only printing up mens styles, but, the styles I'm picking are a real nice fitted and more fashionable tee so the smaller sizes will still look hot on you girls. Smaller tees and vests will be down the line.

Bit delayed this one but seeing as I haven't posted any pics for a good while I thought I'd whack these up of my boy Chris' hard work. This is his mk3 tdi dirty dieseasel mobile which he's spent some time and effort attacking it with his ghetto engineering stick. Thing is, it looks sick but I'm kinda jealous because, being a VR owner means wide track, which also means 16x9's up front aren't really gonna work out.

So enjoy these two lonely snaps of his ghetto derv machine (first by Jez second by Chris Walker). I really need to take some pics of mine too now I have some 15x8s strapped on with looooow et. Poke? Yep. Awesome? Of course.

So, as you can see, I've revamped the main blog site a bit. Made the text a little bigger so it doesn't look lost and added some neat new header dividers which took me an age to play around with the html to figure it all out (I aint a coder). It looks a bit more complete now and solid, everything was kind floating around before which didn't work. I may have cluttered up a bit so there may be some font sizing to address, but, for now I like it a lot more than before. The DubMissile tab in the header is now active so you can use that to go 'home' from anywhere on the blog.

I'm also a Twitter saddo now too, got an account for my graphic design side of things Here so you can follow me if you like, plus, I've set up a Twitter account for DubMissile, to keep it all separate. You can follow that Here or check out the Twitter update thing in the right hand menu where you can click to follow.

So, new shop, restyled blog and Twitter. Time to concentrate on them designs and wallet manufacture now.

Quick update to show y'all I'm actually moving forwards. Here's the initial look of the new DubMissile online shop. There are only 3 products on at the moment, none for sale as I'll be updating these too and getting some new snaps of the new tees done so it all looks sexy. This is gonna be awesome as you can now select the different postage costs for UK or International so no need for messing about. I'll be upgrading my account once I've nailed it down as I can add a ton of product and add some more creative input to the template.

Ok, so the paypal storefront I had a while ago was pretty cool. problem with that was it slowed everything up and was a bit of a pain in the ass to do stuff with. So, I've created a new store at big cartel who provide a really nice service. I'll be working on that, cutomizing it all to make it look nice then add product pics and prices so you kids and go wild and buy stuff from me.

There'll be a few changes around here over the next week or so as I have finally managed to jump back on the DubMissile wagon. So, after all my 'watch this space' and 'coming soon' messages there may actually be some progress being made. At last!!

I've got some big plans for the next few months, gonna finish up my new designs, bin some of the ones I currently have and replace them with newer and more 'worked' designs but none of this stock vector art slapping everywhere crap that everyone does. I'll also be launching a range of rim pin badges too, there are about 26 up to now, different colours with line work of your favourites rims. Collect em all!!!! Plus I think I've nailed the Tyvek paper wallets too so they'll be looking sweet sooner rather than later. I'll also be looking into a separate online shop with bigcartel or someone like that to make it super easy to sort out sales and stock. The paypal mini shop was cool but too laggy and didn't cater for overseas options.

My plan is to send a few packs out to the mags again, PVW were great when I first launched and I got a huge amount of exposure, same with Retro Cars too.

No, this isn't necessarily a call out for new employees, as i don't have a screen printing set-up...yet. eventually I'd like to have a proper unit with all the gear to run a print outfit for all my projects, tees, clothing, posters...etc.

So, what do I want? Well, I'm speaking to a few at the moment but due to time I can't do everything so I need a decent screen printing company, local to the Bolton/Manchester/North West area to offer up their services to print small runs of tees for me.

This is basically I think out loud post as I do think I'm close to nailing this, but if anyone visiting fancies jumping on board I'd love to hear from you.

I know, I know, I've been letting the missile slip so apologies to all those who've emailed requests through for tees and wallets. The design business has been mad busy with some major changes to how I run things already, even after just 4 months. This has meant the time I thought I'd have to spend refreshing the DubMissile product and designs has had to be put on the backburners for a short while, but not out of mind.

I'm currently in talks with a cool screen printers who have a sweet line in fluorescent inks and some nice garments to possibly get me on the right track of buying in some pre-printed stock rather than hand-make as per order. This is good all round as it will save me a ton of time when it comes to sorting out the tees and the print will be longer lasting so I really am thinking of you guys and gals, honest. This also means, depending on the overall costs involved, that the tees won't just be single colour on white, I'll be adding a bunch of bright colours and print colour options so you won't all look like clones.

My favourite catchphrase 'watch this space', but seriously, some very good things in the pipeline, they're just having to take a slow boat for a while.

I haven't washed the vr for about 4 months either. Dirty girl.

November seems to be a month of progress with product and my vr. At the moment I'm playing with a few options in the rim department. Firstly, the Monzas (MK5 GTi rims) are currently sat in my buddy's garage, stripped and half sanded down waiting to be primed and rattle canned with some satin/matt black paint for some winter badass. Secondly, I got my hands on the 15" Revolution RFX rims, which I love But these are proving to give me a few problems. These are Audi fitment, 5x112, which aint a problem as I'm rolling adaptors anyways, but, they're 15x8 with some crazy low offset that I can't seem to find anywhere. What does this mean? Crazy poke, that's what that means!! I aint being defeated yet though. ideally I wanted to run some big rubber on em, 205/50s or something like that but I don't think they'll go in the arches, so, me and my boy Chris are looking into squeezing some 195/45s on there. Hopefully this won't mess the ride up or make the arch gap look like outer space.

More wallet progress!!

Ok, so round 2 on the wallet front.

I refined the template a little to make them more sturdy and easier to make, which means that they're quicker to make which then means I can eventually sell these for a good price instead of being too expensive. This time I did a tighter design with the rim graphic smaller, with more rims. I kinda like this although to make it work 100% I think I need to lose the black areas, you can see how well the design works inside the middle (opened up area) with just full linework coverage. I'm still working on getting these printed up, hand drawing them takes forever which is fine at prototype stage but the quicker I can sort out the printing the quicker I can get some finished artwork up here. I'm aiming to get these packed with a header card and pin badge for that bit of extra DubMissile flavour!!

Ok, so the Toyo R888s are pumped up to crazy hardness and are way fatter than regular 215s AND I won't even be rocking 215s anyway as they're way too wide for the arches, 205s all the way. All I need to do is decide whether to get 50 pro or 45 pro, just to be sure they fit under the arches. I knew they wouldn't fit but hey you gotta have a go right?

Once I get the right rubber on and set the ride height, should look pretty tidy for the next few months. S2s will be coming in for the winter for a spit and polish. Monzas are still getting blacked up but might never see daylight on the anaconda.

Should be a fun winter!

I'm thinking up a bunch of new DubMissile sexy products to get out there as well as tees. Now I'm not talking boggo standard crap products that were cool ten years ago or crap stuff that everyone else does, nooooo, you guys need something cool right? So, I've been working on some wallets. The one shown here is an early prototype, hand made, as everything I do is, and the rim design is a bit big so that needs some tweaking. Also, these will be printed properly before I start to make from my template, as this stands I've hand drawn the design using Sharpies finest.

If you're thinking it looks like a piece of paper, then you're kinda right. It's made from a tough as nails material called Tyvek, the same stuff they make Dupont paint suits from (the white paper-esque ones). This stuff is water proof, it bends, twists, pulls, the stuff is pretty damn tough AND as you can see is super thin. They're cut and made in a way that only needs two points of gluing, the rest is purely folding. So you can put the cards and cash you need in without having a crazy ass lump the size of a small child in your back pocket. I'm gonna sweeten the design first and test out some more templates I've done then make a few for sale on here. They'll have different designs, some car ones, rim ones, engine line-art, a whole bunch and should be up for about £7.50 posted.

Pretty cool and pretty cheap. Got any comments? Add some!!

There's a new (ish) club in town who call themselves 'Unphased'. They seem like a good bunch and not too 'phased' by some of the bullshit that goes on in the scene, which is why when Adam asked me to come up with something for them I was more than happy to help. Now I'm trying to get into the habit of posting regularly again on here to keep things interesting and this is very much a work in progress, so the graphic here may completely change before you see them all running around looking super baddass in some cool club threads. They love the hoops design I did and wanted to have some of that going on, plus they have a number plate style logo tee at the moment, so I incorporated the two ideas to come up with what you see here. Nice and simple but with a little bit of something going on.

Anyways, watch this space, see some changes happen before your very eyes like magic and enjoy.

Well the main man Lewis Hamilton was on the better end of some luck today by snatching the F1 championship today from Felipe Massa. Last year he lost out by one point, this year he won by one point. Poetic huh? It's only the 2nd year I've been into F1, my pal got me into it and yes, I gotta admit Lewis makes following it a little more fun. I used to find it dull as mud but now I kinda like all the tactics involved.

So, big up Lewis and stick two fingers up to all the haters. It looks like no matter how much Ferrari try to corrupt things it all boils down to the man behind the wheel.

Next year he'll wrap it up before the last race, no matter how much Ferrari and Ecclestone's bent crew try to drag things out.

Hello, yes, I am still alive, just been uber busy getting my business up and running and working my lilly white ass off, but everything will be just fine, honest.

I got some plans for the missile with the way it works. The thing is, each tee is made as per order and I've kinda realised that I'm not offering much of a custom service, so, the plan is to have a selection of different coloured tees to choose from, with a selection of colours for the prints too. That way, if you have a red mk1 and you like yellow tees, you can have a red print on a yellow tee. Simple eh?

Anyway, I've pulled the shop down for now while I get everything order, I don't wanna be taking orders when I'm too busy to sort my shiz out. If you have any suggestions feel free to fire me an email, it's good to talk.

Woods Creative ftw!

Ok, so, things are moving on my business set-up life. Firstly I've pretty much secured a contract with work so that when i leave, I'll have a 12 month retainer which is sweet. Not many businesses get the chance of guaranteed work before they even get going, unless you're awesome at what you do, which I'd like to think I am ;-D. This makes the whole business plan and forecast piece a bit more juicy and interesting for the bank manager.

The hardest part for designers is actually coming up with your own name and brand identity. Now I love logo design, pretty much my favourite bit of graphic design for me, I actually get excited over sweet logos, but that's a whole other conversation to be had on my design blog...when i set it up. Name wise I'm settling on Woods Creative, it's my name and is pretty safe but has loads of scope for some cool touchy feeley styling. I love old fashioned print techniques, stamps, screen prints, letterpress...etc so my logo will be a nice piece of bold typography that can be applied as a block, the same how a logo would be applied but not a logo as such. The colour of it will chage when I feel like it and maybe even the type style will change. I kinda like 'Man-Made Woods' too as a company name but not sure if that's too quirky, sounds cool though eh.

Now, if you look at the sexy pic in this post you'll see some wood. WRONG!! I found me some sweet, sweet papers that are made using some crazy technique adopted form laminate flooring which means the paper, weighing in at about 120gms, looks and feels like wood. Sick eh? This is gonna look awesome with the embossed, pressed logotype on there.

Anyways, I'm getting excited which means you lot get something to read, so you'd better all support my ass or you'll die of boredom.

I'll post up more stuff when I sort out my letterpress source.

Well, I was gonna set up a separate blog to kinda document the set-up of my business but been too busy to sort it out, so, I'll be posting up some progress on here. I know it aint new tees but at least it gives you regular vistors something new to read seeing as I'm such an exciting guy!!

Anyways, one really awesome thing is a potential contract with my current place of work which takes a huge amount of money making stress off my shoulders. The money needs a few tweaks but once we come to a nice mid ground then we can hit the big 'GO' button. Had a meeting with an accountant today too which was a good eye opener and I learned quite a bit which has taken some of the stress out of building a business plan, I'm starting to get into it now. I just need to bloody settle on a company name now and get my design style nailed.

Them I need to buy some new mac kit....good times!!!

Jeeez, it's half way through July and I aint even posted anything this month, not even another lame promise of new designs.

Well, some stressful news but really awesome news in the longterm...I'm leaving work to set up my own design business. Why? Well, I've been working at my place for nearly 10 years and think its about time I branched out, did some different things and made money for myself and if everything goes to plan then I'll be laughing. So, I've been a little distracted the last couple of months with figuring business shit out and trying to get my head round what my business plans are actually gonna be. Once this is sorted I'll have the time I need to put more effort into my design projects, the Missile being one of them so please be patient and save some pennies because you'll find that one day not much has changed, then the next there'll be shit loads of stuff to go at.

Wish me luck and keep you eyes peeled for new stuff very, very soon and check out odd random project that may crop up from time to time.

It's been out of the frame for a while but the Unity Media crew have resurrected a legend!! Retro Cars is an awesome mag for anyone who digs old school rides from all marques. Everyone loves some retro love so this is well worth a peek.

PLUS, they obviously have impeccable taste and gave me, the DubMissile, half a page in the news/new stuff bit which is AWESOME!!

Well, my lovely girl has proven that all her hard work at Uni has payed off. She got a nice little letter from Bolton University the other day saying something along the lines of...Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Textile and Pattern Design with FIRST CLASS HONOURS!! So I'm shamelessly taking this chance to say a big well done for kicking ass, staying with it and fighting through all the stress and confusion.

So I haven't posted for a while due to being a busy mo'fo at work and at home but it all seems to be just about out of sight. I can now jump back onto some new tee designs I've been promising for the last month and get you guys dressed up like the kings and queens that you are.

Did I say queens? Does that imply girls tees? Indeed it does my friends, I'll be sorting out the chick contingent with some girls options too. These will be mainly the same designs, plus, some quirky designs like on some of my pin badges which suit girls tees really well. Skinny fit tees in pinks and whites (I know, bit typical but still cool).

PLUS, I may be offering up some different colour blanks as options too for boys and girls. All pale colours but still, more options.

Ok guys, I've been having a nightmare with my tee supplier the past week and a bit. They'd sent me tees with ground in dirt marks, plus they were late.

I've now changed my supplier to better quality, better shape and whiter looking tees so you get a better product for your cash.

Ok guys, I've had a look at what misprints and stuff I have, some are pretty much fine expect for the rear logo being a bit faded, others have slightly faded front prints but all in all not bad for the money.

So, best and fairest way to do this is first come first served on here, in this post in the comments box, that way we can see who asked for what first. Sound fair?

All tees are £8 DELIVERED!! And the ones that don't have neck labels in, will have when I send em out BUT there won't be any swing tags and pin badges with em I'm afraid.

So, here's what I got at the moment:

Slow and low: 1x small (this is a good one by the way).

Ok guys, not sure if everyone likes this as an idea but...

All the tees are hand done, initially hand drawn designs, hand stitched labels, hand cut transfers and hand printed so there tends to be a few mistakes here and there when getting things right. I have a bunch of tees that haven't printed perfectly that are a bit light in some places, have gone distressed a bit or whatever. So, I was gonna get a list of what I have and sell em off at a discounted rate, saves them sitting there doing nothing. Some will be better than others, some may even be fine but a practice run of a certain style/colour tee that I aint happy with, but still a bargain nonetheless.

So, carboot sale stuff, £8 delivered sound good?

Gimme some feedback and I'll see what I got.

Right then, 2 new designs are up and running, they took a while seeing as the vr6 lump tee has been in PVW for about a week. Anyways, the lump tee took me bloody ages to draw up, all line art done by hand based on a cut away airbrushed diagram that has been around for a while. Looks pretty cool as line art if I do say so myself.

The rado tee is one of my current favourites at the mo, really simple and bold to sit with the rest of the range but kinda jumps out at you.

Hope you dig em, if you do, feel free to stroll over to the shop and blow some of your hard earned.

Next up, rocco, polo and a bit of a mixed bag tee which is gonna look awesome. Watch this space kids.

Been a while this one but my good buddy Fletch, hip hop meister extraordinairre (see links in the buddys list) is a patient man and now, he has a lil' DubMissile love. Based on one of his awesome tracks 'Take a Risk' I created a little logo-esque graphic to throw around as he pleases. There are a couple of tweaks to sort out but expect to hear heaps from Fletch this year and there may even be some DubMissile/Fletch merchandise in the pipeline. Give him a listen, properly talented guy.

Doing this graphic inspired me into a new tee design too so in the next couple of weeks (gonna take a while this one) expect a sick tee with more dubs than you can shake a stick at and some cool drippy paint style goin on. The Rocco and Rado individual ones will be here first though to join the current range.

Another addition to the DubMissile family is the mk3 heavyweight tee. Pic is a bit crappy but the design is reet so go vist the shop and make yourself look nice for the ladies.

Also, the Six Shooter detail is a small back neck print for the back of any tee if your ride is vr powered. So, got a mk2? Then buy a 2nd coming tee and if your mk2 has 6 dirty pots under the bonnet then add the six shooter to your tee to be that extra bit special.

Planning on doing a few more extra graphics for different lumps so you can customize your tee a bit.

Right, gotta finish the Rocco and Rado tees now.

What can I say guys, I'm overwhelmed by the positive feedback from everyone that's been in touch. I think the PVW snippet has done its job pretty well as I've had quite a few orders up to now. I'll be sorting out all the tees this weekend so don't panic, I haven't done a runner with your hard earned, I picked the newly repaired vr today so I'm fully mobile again. Expect a little something extra in your package for the delay.

Thanks to PVW for the feature again, expect more of that in the near future, all going well, I'm also looking to run a competition with them at some point so keep your peelers, er, peeled.

Ok, so, we all love our rides right? I mean, we spend whatever cash we can scrape together to make em look pretty, or go faster or whatever and we spend whatever spare time we have either cleaning em or showing off to our fellow junkies. But I tell ya, sometimes...you just wanna get a piece of pipe and...anyway, I'll calm down and fill y'all in on my weekend of woes.

If I'm honest, I'm not big into spending hours washing and waxing my ride, I know she looks awesome for it and she appreciates it but I've got loads of other stuff that I can be doing really, especially with the tee shirts starting to take off. So, when I do give her a good once over it's usually a quick hour or so with the sponge and in summer I'll hook her up with some chamois action if she's lucky. This weekend I decided, after dropping my girl off at work at 7am I'd get to work, give her a good hosing (not my girl), a good shampoo and do the whole car from top to bottom in sections so as not to streak too much. I also decided to sort my rims out which being polished, have taken a beating because of the shitty weather, plus I didn't really look after them too well. So I wash her, taking my time, she looks good, then I dig out the Autsol, Belgom Alu and PoorBoys wheel treatment plus a heavy dosage of elbow grease to polish away the dirt and mess right down to the shininess again. 3 stages, Autosol like a madman, polish off, apply the Alu, leave for a while then polish off, then apply the PoorBoys, leave again (trying so hard not to eat it, it smells soooo good) then polish off. Now this, I really didn't enjoy, it was worth it but really made me realise that polished rims on a daily horse aint too clever. I stand back, admire my ghetto handy work then go to get my girl from work.

Now at this point I shoulda known something was wrong, it'd rained earlier while I was polishing the wheels but no matter it had calmed down, but some f'ker in a truck full of shit had gone down the road leaving a trail of orangey brown mess everywhere, which, being wet, sprayed all over my car. Strike 1. Then, after much stopping and starting all day, I set off to my parents house around teatime to use the heat press and what happens? My oil temp shoots from 95 to 118...122...124...128...SHIIIIIIT!! I had a water leak around the oil cooler due to a damaged pipe but nothing major so I was worried why all of a sudden this happened. Time to retreat. As we pulled up to home, the temp reached 144 degress. 144!! Then, she cut out. Strike 2. So we made arrangements for my girls uncle to have a look at his garage today so we limped her there, pissing coolant everywhere but at least she works, which is what was worrying me. On the ramps, bleeding, battered, sad, but clean, we discover the water pump is bust. Great. So my car looks sweet but is beached, like a mighty shiny whale until I can get my local vr guy to fix her up tomorrow. Can't sort my tees out, can't go to our local dub meet and can't go for a Sunday blast under some tunnels. Strike3.

Gotta say thanks to uncle Stu for having a look today, really appreciate it. I wish I had a garage with ramps. Actually, I wish I had a garage, or even a drive for that matter.

Ultimate Dubs 08

So, Ultimate Dubs weekend has just been and gone and I gotta say it was a proper awesome show. I think I might actually look into getting a decent camera and learn some shooting skills because there were some seeeeerious rides there. Not fully my bag the whole über polish clean scene, never really found the time to spend hours and hours cleaning my wheels but fair play to the soldiers out there that do, gives us all some ideas and I respect the work that goes into it all. I took a few snaps with the trusty ericsson, pretty shite really but I had to get some snaps. We had a riot going down, Tom found a bargain vr6 synchro (left hooker) which is a bit rough around the edges but man was it badass, as was the young lads crazy ass driving tricks. I hung out the window my pals S3 at high speed taking photos...most of which were pretty crap so we swapped over and I had a rip in the vag speed machine, which was super class but lacked the raw awesomeness of the vr. Have a look at some of the pics to whet your whistles.

Now, the BIG deal was that I had a chat with Elliott from PVW magazine, I introduced myself and we had a chat about the missile and what can be done. From what I gather he seems to be into it. So I greased his palms with a few more tees and away I went. We talked about running some tees as a prize in the mag so I was thinking of offering up one of all the designs in whatever size the winner is, plus a badge pack of all the wheel badges I have (about 26), which I've yet to post up here actually. Sound a worthy prize? Anyways, the new issue was on sale at show price and I have myself a sweet lil' news feature on page 21, plus a mention in the big wagon shoot so life is getting sweeter. Things can only blow up from here.
